Hi! I’m David from Malaysia and I’m on a journey to empower my business with the internet so that I may live a more fulfilling and purposeful life.

This site is about my journey to:

I’m on a journey to replace my regular income with revenue from online-related activities in my new online business. I’m eating my own dog food, so this means you’ll see the results of my journey right here.

Call it what you like – digital entrepreneurship, lifestyle design or even make money online. I prefer the term ‘online business’ because I’m treating my online activities like a business with a bottom line, and because it is every bit as real as a traditional, offline business.

Life is so much more than work and how much money you make. Life should be whatever you want it to be, not what others tell you it should be.

The work you do should help get you further in life. However it’s the other way around for most people – they work to bring the business further.

By working smart instead of working hard, you can free up your time to pursue and focus on what matters to you – your family, your faith, larger world-changing work or even to just have fun.

I believe that creating an online business is the best way to generate revenue through a leveraged business model while allowing maximum freedom and mobility. Therefore, starting and growing an online business will be a big theme of The ClickStarter.

Tales from the Trenches of an Online Entrepreneur

In a previous life I worked in advertising and marketing, and have worked with global brands like Nokia, Honda and Maybank, Malaysia’s biggest bank, on their web and social media marketing.

Now I run my own business, consulting with small business on web marketing and strategy. I work from home, reduce the amount of work stress in my life, spend quality time with my family every day, and it’s the best job I’ve ever had.

Tomorrow I want to generate the majority of my income online and through a leveraged business model, so that I can separate my time from my income and work from anywhere in the world.

I will be chronicling my journey and the obstacles I face. Technical obstacles like building a website for an online business. Educational obstacles like marketing tactics or sales strategy. And internal obstacles like dealing with Resistance and living an unconventional life.
